It became apparent that they were using more than their solar panels were replacing. A surprise, as power generation and storage was one area they went to great lengths to over engineer. We can only guess that the lack of sunshine resulted in less generation, whilst the battle they’ve been having with the wind and currents drained more as they try to keep the boat safe and pointed in the right direction.
On a positive note, from the Live Tracker (on a separate battery), they seem to have taken a more Westerly course over the last day or so. If they can keep this going, and hit their next waypoint, they should find helpful currents at last and get a much-needed boost towards Hawaii.
